I picked these up over the years. I’m not sure where I heard them all originally. These are mostly common sense but as someone once said “common sense is not so common.” I don’t know if they’re helpful to everyone, but they may help you understand how I manage and train… I hope so.

  • God gave us two ears and one mouth, we should listen twice as much as we talk. (That one was my Dad’s)

  • Praise equals reprimand.

  • Error on the side of generosity

  • Inspect what you expect.

  • Customer satisfaction starts with employee satisfaction.

  • You can’t mend what you can’t measure.

  • Is the dog waggin’ the tail or is the tail waggin’ the dog?
  • Director of first impressions – Your Greeter.
  • Big egos have little ears.
  • Born on third base and thought you hit a triple.
  • A year from now you’ll wish you started today.
  • Frog Rule – If you have to eat a frog, don’t wait too long, eat him while he’s small and you can swallow him down whole. If you wait, he grows into a big frog and you have to eat him a bite at a time. YUK – Gross! And if you must eat two frogs, eat the big one first.
  • Train people well enough so they can leave. Treat them well enough that they won’t want to.
